Whiteness is expressed in ISO. ISO 100 is very white (wood free coated papers). ISO 59 is less white (newsprint papers).
Thickness of paper (bulk, bulkiness) measures the relation between the basic thickness and the real thickness of the paper. The basic thickness is 1 (80 gsm paper of 80 µm thickness)
Opacity is the standard for the light show through of the paper.
Gloss expresses the reflection of light hitting the paper from a certain angle. It is expressed on the Hunter scale.
