SC paper (Super Calandered)
SC is a uncoated, glossy, mechanical paper which is often used in magazines, catalogues and retail items. Deinked Pulp (DIP) can be used as the raw material for this kind of paper.
SC-A is also called SC. Its whiteness is around ISO 67 and its gloss, measured on the Hunter scale, is 50.
SC-A+ / SC-A++ are SC grades with more gloss and higher whiteness (ISO 72-80).
SC-B has a similar whiteness as SC-A, but with less gloss (gloss Hunter 30).
SC-C does not officially exist in Europe, but is used in the United States of America. This grade of newspaper is more glossy. It is comparable to brands like Flyopress and NorX. This basic newsprint paper is lightly calandered |
