Durable Entrepreneurship can no longer be erased from our society. In this field as well as in other areas, Thijsen likes to play a leading part by being sensible in the use of energy (thanks to our very own energy plant, for instance), by stimulating the use of recycled paper, and by stressing the importance of the FSC and PEFC certificates Thijsen is the largest user of recycled paper in the Netherlands. In different types of paper grades, we use thousands of tonnes of ‘old’ paper. Customers like Greenpeace, the ‘Wereldwinkel’ and Fair Trade found their way to TMG, but large retailers equally make a very conscious decision in using paper types which are environmentally friendly.

Recycled Paper Recycling (re-using) old paper contributes largely to meeting the total demand for paper. The word ‘recycled’ is used in various meanings in this context: paper which has already been used by consumers is called ‘post-consumer’, paper which had not yet reached consumers, is called ‘pre-consumer’ waste. Over the years we have developed many kinds of recycled paper grades, with excellent qualities and in almost any whiteness.
